We had a wonderful stay at Montegufoni! The apartment was inside the castle and the grounds were lovely - surrounded by the Tuscan countryside. It was peaceful and the staff are very helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Definitely worth visiting, incredible find. Perfect mix of historical and modern. Amazing, hope to be back soon

miejsce jest przepiękne, widoki i sam zamek zapiera dech w piersiach. okolica jest bardzo spokojna (bez auta byłoby ciężko gdziekolwiek się dostać) dużo prywatności, byliśmy z partnerem pod koniec sierpnia i ludzi było bardzo mało przez co można było odczuć dużą prywatność. W obiekcie jest mała restauracja, żeby tam zjeść polecam zrobić rezerwację w recepcji bo jest tylko parę stoliczków. Pokoje były bardzo czyste, w rustykalnym stylu, odczuwalny taki "kościelny" zapach w pokoju przy pierwszym wejściu ale przyzwyczailiśmy się do niego i nam to nie przeszkadzało. Przed wymeldowaniem musieliśmy wynieść śmieci. Podatek turystyczny musieliśmy zapłacić również przy wymeldowaniu 2 euro za osobę na dzień(była informacja ze płatność tego podatku jest gotówką jednak można było także zapłacić kartą więc duży plus bo akurat nie mieliśmy ze soba gotówki). Ogólne wrażenia bardzo pozytywne i bardzo wszystkim polecam.

Das Schloss ist wirklich wunderschön! Der Garten und Pool inklusive Ausblick laden zum entspannen ein. Jedoch muss einem bewusst sein, dass ohne ein Auto umliegende Dörfer schwer zu erreichen sind. Zum Runterkommen und Entspannen aber perfekt. Das Zimmer ist einwandfrei; sauber und funktional eingerichtet. Jedoch fehlen bei der Küchenaustattung wesentliche Basics, wie Salz, Pfeffer und Öl. Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert für einen entschleunigten Urlaub (:

Det var et fint slot, hvor vi fik vores eget værelse med køkken. Det er et meget flot sted, med smukke omgivelser og en rigtig god restaurant. God seng og pænt badeværelse. Vi var meget tilfredse med opholdet, men havde ikke forstået at der ikke var rengøring under opholdet.

Just wow! absolutely gorgeous setting,idyllic. We pre booked the restaurant for our first and last night (you need to prebook so you're not disappointed) Our apartment was great and had everything we needed for our 4night stay. We got provisions for breakfast at the nearby shop. Reception were super helpful in booking wine tasting and a vespa tour. We'd definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend it.

Een geweldige plek buiten de drukte van de stad. Een fijn zwembad, een restaurant (niet bijzonder goed) en bovenal fijn personeel en mooie kamers. Prijs kwaliteit is geweldig, we onthouden deze plek.

Dit was de 4e of 5e keer dat ik in Montegufoni verbleef. Dit keer in een appartement in het kasteel. Echt prachtig. Mooi en schoon appartement. Het was er rustig. We hebben echt genoten.

We had a very nice stay at the castle. It is beautiful and we really enjoyed visiting the garden and swimming in the pool. I recommend it!

Wonderful location with stunning local scenery. Simple yet functional apartment with pleasant view over the courtyard. Short drive to stores and stunning villages that made trips around the country’s side a treat. Good local wine from local wine yards and cured meat. A treat for anyone who loves wine and food. Will return if possible at another time, would definitely recommend.

Perfekte Unterkunft! Sauber, gut ausgestattet und tolle Lage. Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Absolut empfehlenswert für einen entspannten Aufenthalt!

We loved staying at this beautiful property! It was easy to find with GPS, check in went smoothly, and the room was as described in the listing. It is a very simple room, and at the time of check in they do note they only provide enough basic supplies to get you started (soap, toilet paper, etc) but not enough for the entire stay. We stayed in late September and there was no need for air conditioning, the windows had bug screens so we left the windows open most of the time and kept plenty cool. The property is beautiful & the restaurant on site is delicious. The 2 waitresses, Elaina & Simone, were so friendly & welcoming each night! I would stay here again!

A beautiful setting, with stunning views. Truly wonderful place to stay amd immerse yourself in the Tuscan countryside. We especially enjoyed cocktails on the terrace.

The castle is stunning, peaceful and has incredible views over the Tuscan countryside. We watched the sunset on one side and full moonrise on the other. The restaurant was useful for evenings when we didn’t want to drive elsewhere. Everyone was so friendly and food good. Morning swims with the pool to ourselves, busier in the middle of the day with lots of families. You need to bring all you need for breakfasts etc but the apartment has all the equipment you need to create simple meals.

Unser Aufenthalt im Castello di Montegufoni war einfach wunderschön. Das Schloss bietet eine atemberaubende Atmosphäre, das Essen im Restaurant war super lecker und ebenfalls mit schönem Ambiente. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und nett eingerichtet. Ein Highlight war natürlich auch der Pool, der zum entspannen einlädt. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen☺️

Such a beautiful castle to stay in. The bed was comfortable room lovely and spacious. Staff at the castle were all very friendly and they have an incredible restaurant. We had a lovely stay here.

This was an extremely scenic stay, the Castello was charming and views of the Tuscan countryside were spectacular! Do bring a car as it’s quite difficult to get around otherwise, and make way to the town of Montespertoli for your lunch/dinner. Siena is an hour away and great for a day trip! Overall, very pleased with our stay as it gave us the quintessential Tuscan experience :)

Fijn verblijf! Mooi kasteel, ruime kamer, fijn bed. Gastvrouw Valentina was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk, het eten in het restaurant is ook een grote aanrader. Enige jammere is dat je voor verwarming nog moest bijbetalen, en dat er geen basisbenodigdheden zijn om te koken, zoals olie.

Just keep in mind that there is a $18 Euro heating fee (per day) that is hard to find on this listing. You also need to be self sufficient- you need to remove your own rubbish and the basics aren't provided (salt and pepper). You also have to have a car and you can't get around on public transport. The pictures are accurate

Beautiful location and friendly staff!

Fantastiskt boende i historisk miljö. Vi kände oss kungligt bemötta och servicen var fenomenal. Perfekt ställe att utgå ifrån om man ska upptäcka Toscana - nära till vackra städer som San Gimignano, Siena och Florens och nära till en mängd vingårdar i området Chianti. Sista kvällen åt vi fantastisk mat med ypperlig service i slottets egna restaurang. Högsta betyg!

Amazing place to stay - it was like something out of a film! We arrived late due to flights and check in was super easy with the host giving clear instructions. We didn’t actually rent a car and used the local bus instead, which was super easy and reliable (although we did get a taxi from the airport when we landed). The restaurant, food and staff were amazing! Couldn’t recommend more.

We had a great time staying at the Castello. Well located, beautiful area and gorgeous amenities. There’s also a nice restaurant on spot that we went to twice! Highly recommend staying here. Made for quite a unique experience during our time in Tuscany!

My fiancé and I had a great stay at the castle. I would recommend to stay in the cooler months - as there is no air conditioning. August was very hot - there were two fans inside, however, it felt like blowing warm air around vs cooling down. I guess this is to be expected at a castle! The bed was also a bit firm for our liking. Limited toilet paper available, you have to take out your garbage, and supply your own cooking essentials such as salt, sugar, coffee, etc. Not ideal if you are only staying a few days. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. The on-site restaurant was lovely. If you are looking for a secluded getaway in the Tuscany countryside, this is a great option!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüsst und erhielten viele Tips für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung sowie Einkaufsmöglichkeiten etc. Das Schloss bietet einen fantastischen Ausstieg aus dem Alltag. Das Restaurant serviert sehr gutes Essen und das Zimmer beinhaltet alles was man braucht.

Absolutely stunning place to stay. It’s even better than in the pictures on here. The staff was amazing and the food at the restaurant was so good and very well priced. Only thing I would say is if you are staying here in the heat of summer, keep in mind there is no air conditioning and in 100 degree weather, fans don’t do much.

What a magical experience! As we ate at their amazing restaurant (it was so surprisingly good), the table next to us was made up of Canadians who had stayed at the Castello 10 years ago. hopefully we won't have to wait that long to visit again. so quiet. so peaceful. it feels as though you have the whole place to yourself. we would drive to the outskirts of Florence and then take the tram to the centre (free parking by nenni torregali). we also visited the nearby Machiavelli villa where he wrote his famous work following his imprisonment and torture. note: bring a car and there's a hefty deposit.

Great Place

This place seems like a hidden gem! What a great location. We loved our spacious room, and the castle was just beautiful. The gardens were also stunning and we enjoyed the idyllic setting of the pool. The restaurant was also amazing. Such delicious food and very reasonably priced. Staff were excellent, the region is beautiful. We would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends!

Ganz besondere Unterkunft mit grandioser Außenanlage und historischem Flair. Die Kritikpunkte in anderen Bewertungen... kleine Fenster etc. sind der historischen Baussubstanz geschuldet die wirklich authentisch belassen wurde, und das ist auch gut so. Der Check-In war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommen. Der Aufenthalt war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis und wir haben uns für 4 Tage als toskanischer Landadel gefühlt ^^

Wunderschönes Kloster - in wunderschöner Lage. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Trips nach Florenz, Siena oder San Gimignano für diejenigen, die sonst die „Ruhe“ suchen. Jederzeit wieder! ????

Definitely a great place! A bit far but gorgeous! Great price. I would definitely recommend do a big shopping before as the nearby shop is incredibly expensive for essentials.

The castle is incredible. Story book views in a 1,200 year old castle. You simply can’t beat it. Having the restaurant on location was perfect for a night or two when you don’t feel like venturing out or had 1 too many bottles of wine. A rental car is a must for the area but completely worth it. There’s are numerous places to visit for food and wine and Florence is only a half hour drive for a day trip. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I just spent 6 days at Castle Montegufoni and it was a fabulous 5-star experience! You have to know It is not a hotel ( no room service) - it is truly a real castle, although has totally updated bathrooms.
ps. bring mosquito apartments, so you can also prepare your own things. (why? You're in Italy!!) I stayed in #22, a perfect apt for 2 that overlooks the main courtyard - I loved it. But you can also ask for an apt that overlooks the incredible landscape. There are also apts that aren't in the castle, but on the castle grounds- ask for what you want in size and location, there are choices!

The staff is friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. They are also helpful in giving suggestions on places to go and see.
The food is clean, fresh from the area and both the food and wine was amazing.

My favorite part is the luscious landscapes you see from anywhere you look.
Walks / runs are something you will experience no where else. You can drive to the small towns and enjoy true Italian living with the locals.

There are interesting and fun vineyards to experience the locals wines, truffles, olive oil, and saffron.

Walk around the castle, the grounds are enormous, and check out all the unusual parts to the castle.

The reception staff isn't there all night, but you have a key to come and go.
Check the hours for the restaurant ( amazing!) , so you can plan when to eat there on the beautiful dining courtyard vs going out and exploring in the nearby nearby towns.

ps. bring mosquito lotion. I'm always chewed up - and I didn't get a single bite with mosquito lotion.

My rooms, more like a flat, with kitchen, drawingroom, bedroom with excellent bed, bathroom next to bedrooom. hot and cold water, shower.

We had a wonderful time at Castello Montegufoni. The building is absolutely superb, the garden and the pool area is fantastic and the view is beautiful. One night we had dinner at the castle's restaurant, which was also very nice and a good price as well. In the end of our stay I even bought a book about the castel's history. It is fascinating.
